Create Pore Pressure
With the Create Pore Pressure form you create an integrated, dynamic pore pressure property for your 3D mesh. The inputs for this property are the initial pore pressure that is available for your full 3D mesh (defined in the Pore Pressure step in the Geomechanics workflow, model > Geomechanics > Pore Pressure), and the dynamic pore pressure that is mapped to the reservoir zone of your 3D mesh. For mapping, use the Property Mapping Tool under the Tools workspace.
The result is a pore pressure property with time steps for the full model.
This workflow step is not mandatory. If a suitable property already exists that contains dynamic pore pressure with valid values everywhere, you can skip this step and select the property directly on the Steps form. The same applies if this workflow step was already executed earlier on this mesh, in which case a suitable property is already available.
To create the pore pressure
- At the top of the form select the Abaqus case of interest from the drop-down list.
- After selecting the Abaqus case, the associated 3D mesh and geomechanical model are listed automatically. This information is read-only.
- Select the Initial pore pressure from the drop-down list. By default, the initial pore pressure that is calculated in the Geomechanics workflow is selected. All pressure properties without time steps on the 3D mesh are listed.
- Select the Reservoir pore pressure. All pressure properties with time steps on the 3D mesh are listed.
- Type a name for the new pore pressure property in the Pore pressure name text field.
- Click OK to create the property, close the form and go to the next step in the workflow, Create Temperature.
